17-year-old lagos lady commits suicide over love affair

A court in Surulere is hearing the case of a certain Emeka Ajezu, 33, for allegedly causing the death of his lover who drank sniper insecticide.
Although Emeka is being accused of “causing death by negligence.”, the deceased girl had died from her own suicidal act after which she discovered her lover -Emeka- is planning to get married to a different woman from his village.
The 17 year old deceased is said to be pregnant for the defendant before her death.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Sections 227 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2011.
Emeka has pleaded not guilty to the charge
The Court adjourned the case until Dec. 20 for mention.
